PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably rotate a shaft, independently of the direction of thrust load, even when it is moved during rotation. SOLUTION: This fluid bearing device comprises a pair of sleeves 20, 20' mounted at one sides of a pair of bearing brackets, respectively, a shaft 30 inserted in through-holes in the respective sleeves and provided with the second dynamic pressure generating groove in the outer periphery opposed to the inner peripheries of the respective through-holes and a pair of thrust bearings 50, 50' mounted at the other sides of a pair of bearing brackets, respectively. The first dynamic pressure generating grooves 50a, 50a' are formed between one of a pair of thrust bearings and the cross section of the shaft.
