PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fixability of an implant by forming a coating film of a calcium phosphate material on the surface of an implant member and distributing calcium phosphate-based ceramic particles of the diameter large than the average film thickness of this film thereon. SOLUTION: The coating film of the calcium phosphate material is formed on the surface of the implant member consisting of a metallic material, such as titanium alloy, having no harmfulness to the living body. The particles of the calcium phosphate-based ceramics, for example, apatite, having the diameter larger than the average film thickness of the coating film are distributed on the coating film. This distribution is executed by a method of subjecting the surface of the implant member with the coarse particles of the calcium phosphate-based ceramics, such as apatite, to penetrate these particles into the implant surface. The surface thereof is coated with the calcium phosphate material. The surface is made rugged by this constitution, by which the hyperplasia and growth of the bones by the calcium phosphate material are assisted. |
