<p>The plant consists of an inclined high temp. furnace traversed by a vibrating feeder which is also inclined. The feeder is of heat resistant and tough material. It is supplied with granular material from another vibrating feeder placed above it connected to a vertical supply hopper. The grains move across the lower feeder and are swept by a gas flowing in the opposite direction. The vibration of the feeder is controlled by a vibrating unit and a time-switch which enables the vibration to take place intermittantly, and enables the time which the material spends in the furnace to be varied.</p> |
