Decorative profiles - having metal body covered with sheet coated with transparent thermoplastic resin

Elongated articles, such as tubes and rods, have a sheet covering their surface, and a transparent resin layer uniformly coverings the sheet. Specif., the elongated body consists of a metal profile coated with a resin layer. The lengthwise axis of the sheet and the lengthwise axis of the elongated body are parallel. The transparent resin layer consists of a thermoplastic resin e.g. cellulose acetate butyrate. The sheet has a metallic appearance and pref. consists of Al foil with a thickness of 0.01-0.2 mm. The transparent resin layer has a thickness of 0.01-5 mm. Used e.g. for prodn. of profiles, tubes and rods for use in furniture. These articles have a good resistance to corrosion and an attractive appearance.
