PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head and an ink jet apparatus achieving high speed printing and having higher reliability. SOLUTION: The ceiling part constituting the liquid passage 16 in an ink jet head is successively constituted of regions I, II, III from the side of an emitting orifice corresponding to the height from the bottom surface part constituting the liquid passage 16. The regions I, III are parallel to the bottom surface part constituting the liquid passage 16 and the region I is higher than the region III in the height of the liquid passage and the region II has the inclination increased in the height of the liquid passage from the region III toward the region I and the region II is formed within the range of distances L1-L2 from the reference point being the insecting point of the ceiling part and an emitting orifice forming surface. The bottom surface part has an emitting pressure generating means 14 within the range of the distances LH1-LH2 from the projection point of a reference point to the bottom surface part and the relation between the ceiling part and bottom surface part satisfies formula LH1+(LH2-LH 1)×0.8<=L2.
