PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out solid soln. formation treatment at a lower temp. in a shorter time and to produce ceramics having a fine structure and excellent in mechanical characteristic through a depositing process. SOLUTION: A mixture of a metal oxide contg. a 1st metallic element, e.g. alumina with a metal oxide contg. a 2nd metallic element such as Ti, Mg or Fe is prepd. and heated by irradiation with microwaves to form a solid soln. with the 2nd metallic element substd. or invaded in oxide crystal lattices contg. the 1st metallic element. Metal oxide crystals contg. the 2nd metallic element are than deposited in grains of metal oxide crystals contg. the 1st metallic element and/or on grain boundaries by heating the solid soln. in an atmosphere other than the atmosphere in the solid soln. forming process. |
