Improved insulating piece for elastic securing of rails on two-part crossmembers (sleepers)

These pieces are mounted on both sides of the foot (flange, base) of the rail for securing the latter to the crossmember by means of threaded sleeper screws (screw spikes) or screws and bolts which pass through them and after the interposition of individual steel elastic plates which rest on a mortise-type arrangement formed on the upper face of said insulating pieces. The invention consists in giving the bottom of the mortise-type arrangement for support of the elastic plate or sheet 9 a wide indentation 15 which is open at the sides in order to establish as sole support for the elastic plate 9 two end bands 12, 13 parallel to the rail. In this way, direct forces are prevented from being transmitted to the retention insulating piece when tightening is carried out correctly. Provision is made for longitudinal 19 and transverse 20 partitions or ribs which emerge from a horizontal wall 21, the longitudinal ribs 19 forming the steps which define the support bands 12, 13 for the elastic plate 9. This elastic plate 9 abuts frontally on the extensions of two transverse walls and abuts laterally on prismatic projections which emerge from the upper face. <IMAGE>
