The unit has a fixed magnetic outer structure (20) and a moving magnetic inner armature (22). The armature is attached to a switching section (14). Switching is performed by movement of the moving arm towards the static section, closing the magnetic gap to an intermediate position. A deadening side section (58) is attached to the moving armature which produces a switching tuning response during movement of the armature to a second position.
