PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily remove malodors without using chemicals. SOLUTION: This catalyst type air purifying device is constituted by arranging zeolite 5 and active carbon 6 as adsorptive materials to adsorb the odorous components in the air into a casing 2 having an air suction port 3 and air blow-off ports 4 in such a manner that the former 5 exists on the upstream side of the air flow and that the latter 6 exists on the downstream side thereof. Catalyst materials 15, 16 are arranged along the adsorptive materials 5, 6. After the odorous components in the air are adsorbed by the adsorptive materials 5, 6, the catalyst materials 15, 16 are heated to an activation temp. by heaters 7 and the adsorptive materials 5, 6 are heated until these materials attain their odorous component desorption temp. The odorous components desorbed from the adsorptive materials 5, 6 are decomposed and removed by the catalyst materials 15, 16. |
