The device is applied in systems pulsing the laser which strikes a deflector 6 which is controlled in order to produce various angles of deflection of the laser ray, the latter striking various points of the surface of the product 7 to be marked. It is characterized in that it has a pulse-detection and identification unit 3 which includes a peak detector 4, in such a manner that, when the laser 1 is activated, it detects the moment at which maximum power will be produced. It has a marking control unit 5 which generates the various signals which are applied to the deflector 6 in order to print a spot at the precise instant that maximum power is produced or in order to print a character (or a plurality of spots) during the period over which the laser is pulsed. It has a laser-control unit 8 which generates the signals for activating and deactivating the laser with each character to be printed. This structure allows the use of lower-power lasers in the marking of moving products. <IMAGE>
