发明名称 IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO METHODS OF MANUFACTURING VALVES
摘要
1,267,382. Cores; casting processes. HYKON-PATENT A.B. 31 March, 1969 [10 April, 1968], No. 16731/69. Heading B3F. [Also in Division F2] A valve is made by casting a valve housing 1 in one piece around a core 23 enclosing a valve member 5, removing the core 23 to leave the valve member 5 within the housing 1 and connecting an operating device 10 to the valve member 5. A cast iron, brass or bronze discshaped slide 5 is mounted on a rod 21 which is enclosed within the core 23 together with brass or bronze sealing rings 6, 7 detachably secured for example to annular sealing surfaces 8, 9 of the slide 5. The core 23 is formed with a pair of parallel grooves to form on the inner side of the housing 1 a pair of guide ribs (32), (Fig. 3, not shown), which are adapted to be engaged by studs (33) on the slide 5. After the core 23 has been removed from the cast iron housing 1, annular grooves 30, 31 are machined in the housing and the sealing rings 6, 7 positioned therein. The housing 1 is further machined to provide a hole 27 and internal threads on a drainage hole 28, whereupon a spindle 10 is mounted in the slide 5 and held in position by a washer 14 and a hub 15 of a hand wheel 11. Instead of using sealing rings 6, 7, valve seats may be machined on the flanges 34, 35 of the housing. A screw actuated lift valve (Fig. 4, not shown) may be made by the casting method.
