SOLUTION: This acid and aldehyde absorbing polymer is a polymer having an amine structure obtd. by treating nitrile groups contained in a high nitrile polymer with a specified nitrogen-contg. compd. Since this polymer is excellent in acid and aldehyde absorbing performance and can be formed in various shapes such as particle, fiber, sheet and resin shapes, it is applicable to various uses requiring acid and aldehyde absorption.
