PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the heating up time at the time of baking, to decrease an equipment length, to improve productivity, and to prevent the damage of coating material films during the course of transfer by preheating the coating material films applied on thick metallic members for buildings by electromagnetic induction heating, subjecting these films to normal heating by using hot air or IR rays, thereby executing the baking. SOLUTION: The surfaces of the metallic members for buildings having >=1.2μm thickness are subjected to a pretreatment, then to electrodeposition of a coating material in a coating stage and, thereafter, the coating material films are baked. The coating material films applied in the coating stage are preheated by electromagnetic induction heating in the baking stage of the coating line described above. As a result, the coating material films are heated near to the baking temp. in a short period of time and are thermally cured to some extent. The coating material films are thereafter subjected to baking by the normal heating using the hot air or IR rays in a heating furnace. At this time, the temp. fall of the metallic members is preferably suppressed by executing the normal heating stage right after the preheating stage.
