<p>Textiles in the form of tape, strip, skeins or filament, and knitted or woven, are subjected to treatment by air-free superheated steam in an airtight steam chamber containing at least one perforated suction element such as a perforated drum with a blower to create the suction and circulate the steam. The material is passed through the chamber with only one face in contact with the suction drum(s) which it almost completely surrounds. Advantageously the inlet and outlet for the material are placed very close together on one side of the steam chamber.</p> |
