A guide channel (3) is hinged on each of two vertical mountings (4) between a normal when the blind is in the closed position and an end position initiated by displacement of the blind under the action of a force (6) perpendicular to the plane of the blind on one or other sense. This is reached at the moment where the blind edge detaches itself from the guide channel. A sensor unit (30,31) is provided which may be one of the following types:- sound ,electrical contactor, inductive proximity, or capacitive proximity, which detect the inclination of the guide channel with respect to its end positions, just before reaching one of the end positions. This is done so as to establish on either side of the blind, lighting identical lighting conditions to that of the least illuminated room.
