PURPOSE:To improve recording sensitivity by limiting the hardness of record aiding layer and the range of peak heat absorption in the measurement of the difference scanning quantity of the heat of a constituent material. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium has a substrate 1, a recording layer 2, and an auxiliary recording layer 3 which covers at least one surface of the first surface and the second surface on the opposite side of the recording layer 2. The hardness of the auxiliary recording layer 3 is made to be 70 or less in this medium. As the material constituting the recording layer 3, a material which does not substantially have peak heat absorption in the range of 25 - 400 deg.C in the measurement of the difference scanning quantity of heat is used. Thus, the optical recording medium which is highly sensitive for recording optical beams and has a density structure wherein the recording and regenerating contrast and C/N are high can be obtained. |
