Sidewalls (5) extending downwards from the tray top surface (4) form sockets in which the bases of the bottles (19) fit. Each socket contains a protrusion (12) extending upwards from its bottom and which tapers towards the top, so as to fit in the recesses (25) in the bases of different-size bottles. When a bottle is inserted in an inclined position in the socket, it bears against a socket wall, causing the bottom edge of the bottle recess to move upwards over the protrusions. The protrusions in one or more of the sockets are situated eccentrically inside them. Eccentricity can be such that when a bottle of minimum permissible diameter is accommodated, with the recess bottom edge above the protrusion, the bottle bears against the upright socket wall. At the side of the socket furthest from the eccentric portion there can be components thrusting the bottle away, and typically formed by spring components protruding inwards from the socket wall.
