The invention concerns a method for obtaining flightless ladybirds, characterised in that it comprises at least a step which consists in selecting, from a population of adult ladybirds, flightless individuals with normal wing morphology, using a device for sorting the ladybirds on the basis of their ability to fly. The mutant flightless ladybirds obtained by this method are useful for fighting against aphids.
