The present invention relates to a system and method for accessing television program information, particularly context sensitive information, some of which m ay be found through the Internet. A method according to the present invention is prese nted for interactively displaying program information on a television, the method compris ing the steps of receiving a request for program information; displaying program informa tion; receiving a request for additional information; and generating at least one auto matic search term for a search for the additional information.
