<p>A tissue fibrosis inhibitor containing an arginase, a variant thereof, or a modification thereof as the active ingredient. It can not only prevent but also cure tissue fibrosis and is excellent in the stability in the blood and the transferability among various organs. The invention also provides a DNA comprising the base sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 or 9, another DNA hybridizing with the above DNA under stringent conditions and also encoding a human arginase having a tissue fibrosis inhibitory activity, a recombinant vector containing the two DNAs, a transformant prepared by introducing the above vector into a host, and a process for producing a human arginase characterized by culturing the above transformant in a medium, accumulating the human arginase in the culture, and harvesting the accumulated arginase from the culture.</p> |
