PURPOSE:To reduce the number of bit to be processed without sacrifice of stop accuracy by utilizing most significant or least significant several bits of a digital signal, corresponding to the number of count, on a scale, selectively for stop control. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic levitation carrier reaches to a linear scale installing position close to a stop position, that position is detected by counting the number of pulses, to be fed from a scale detector 37, by means of a counter circuit 44 through a shaping circuit 42 and a pulse generating circuit 43. If the position of the carrier is farther than the stop position, most significant eight bits of a digital signal fed from a counter circuit 44 are read into a microcomputer 50 and used for deceleration control of the carrier. When the carrier approaches to the stop position, least significant eight bits of the digital signal fed from the counter circuit 44 are read into the microcomputer 50 and used for deceleration stop control of the carrier. |
