<p>An optical pickup providing 3-D reading of the binary information from a medium (Multilayer disk) by fluorescent sites excitation. A 2-D information at a separate layer is recorded by chemical transformation of the photosensitive material from one stable molecular form A (non fluorescent) to stable molecular form B (fluorescent) via UV light illumination. The apparatus includes reading laser beam (Coherent light source), which induces the fluorescence in the whole volume confined within conical surface of the focused beam, active medium (Multilayer disk), detector for detection of the fluorescence at the wavelength different from the excitation wavelength, and spectral, spatial and electronic filtration (Filter) for filtering the detected signal in order to extract signal from the noise fluorescence coming from the out-of-focus layers.</p> |
