Agitator for use with a disc filter

An agitator for use with a disc filter for filtering an input slurry of solid material and liquid. The agitator includes an inlet pipe that receives a portion of the input slurry. A nozzle is connected to the agitator inlet pipe and increases the speed of the portion of the slurry. An eductor assembly receives the output from the nozzle and draws additional slurry from the vessel into the eductor tube. The eductor assembly directs the combined input slurry and the recirculated slurry towards the center of the vessel. An agitator is placed in between each disc in the filter.
