The invention relates to a steering wheel control device that moves together with the steering column when said column is displaced upwards or lengthwise, in such a way that the shift lever (2) always remains in the same place in relation to the steering wheel whenever the latter is displaced. A connection of the shift lever to a threaded spindle (5) that is placed coaxially to the steering wheel axis (20) enables a locknut (6) to move in axial direction in relation to the shift lever. Said locknut transmits the direction and force in a defined manner to the shift linkage or to the switchboard cable by means of a reversing lever.
