Thermal picture judgement method for air conditioning in vehicles

The method involves building up a thermal picture of the driver's area, the ambient temperature and the temperature of a number of objects in range. The equation between atmosphere temperature and that at a number of measurement points, as detected by infra-red sensors, is predetermined. Whenever the difference in temperature between the objects being measured and their required temperature in relation to the prevailing atmospheric temperature exceeds a pre-set threshold, the air-conditioning is operated. Whether the car is stationary or moving an ambient temperature comfortable to the driver is delivered.
