The system keeps chilled food items at a lower temperature than the surroundings in a cabinet with a wall opening (2) for delivery of items selected by operating switches on a control panel. The cabinet (1) has the opening for delivery of the chilled goods kept inside and selected by a customer on the control panel (4). The opening may be closed until such time as a selection is made. Replacement of stock is through a chute (9) connecting, for example, to a chilled cellar below.
