The present invention provides a rod antenna (10) for use in a portable transmitting/receiving apparatus (30). The rod antenna (10) is housed in a case (31) of the portable transmitting/receiving apparatus (30) so as to be freely inserted thereinto and drawn therefrom and is electrically connected to a feeder section (32) provided in the case (31).
