Heavy-duty disconnector i.e. generator-circuit breaker based on vacuum interrupters

A heavy current disconnecter including an interrupter unit per phase for three-pole switching of the rated current and the short-circuit current, in which each of the three-pole interrupter units is equipped with a separate drive device. The three-pole interrupter unit (DUE) formed by at least one circuit-breaker, of the first kind, carrying the rated current (I ne) and by a circuit-breaker, of the second kind, switching the short-circuit current and the rated current (I ks and I ne). The circuit-breakers of the first and second kind (LSN and LSK) have a common drive unit (ATE), and the circuit-breaker of the second kind (LSK) has a short throw or stroke compared with the first type of circuit breaker. The circuit breakers of the two kinds are more specifically realised by use of vacuum interrupters of the first and second kind.
