Aerosol device based on alcoholic compositions of fixing materials

New aerosol device (I) comprises a recipient containing an aerosol composition (II) comprising a liquid phase containing at least one fixing material (III) in an appropriate solvent and a propellant and a means of distributing (II); where (III) has a Tg ≥ 30 degrees C and (I) is capable of distributing 4-17 mg/s of dry matter and providing a wetting power ≥ 50 mg/s. Also claimed is a method of treating keratinous fibres comprising the application of (III) using (I). Preferably (I) is capable of distributing < 16 mg/s of dry matter (6-15 mg/s preferred). (I) is capable of providing a wetting power of 50-125 mg/s. The total concentration of dry matter is 0.4-5 wt.% of (II) and the propellant (0.6-3.25 wt.% preferred). The aerosol composition distribution of (I) is 500-700 mg/s (about 550 mg/s preferred). The ratio by weight (II)/propellant > 1 (1-2 preferred). (III) essentially comprises a fixing polymer (anionic, cationic, amphoteric and non-ionic polymers preferred). Almost 50% by volume of the appropriate solvent for (III) consists of alcohols (more than 70% by volume preferred).
