The carbon brush (7) has a contact surface (9) for engaging the lamella plates (4) of the electric motor collector (2), with the side edges of the carbon brush, perpendicular to the contact surface provided with a series of raised projections (12), extending in the rotation direction of the collector. The commutator/collector may be provided by triangular cross-section ribs or by pyramid or conical projections arranged in rows which are relatively offset.
