A process for mfg. a tyre, esp. a pneumatic vehicle tyre of conventional construction, e.g. carcass, bead wires, breaker layer and tread involves a two-stage process. In a first stage A a part tyre (20') is made which includes at least the radially outermost layer of the carcass and at the most part of the tread strip. The part tyre (20') is then vulcanised in a mould to give the cross-sectional profile. In a second stage B the part tyre (is) is assembled with the remaining parts of the tyre (30,33) and the complete tyre assembled. A tyre mfd. by the process is also claimed.
