Vehicle dashboard air channel

The air channel slot (24) is limited by two confronting edges (26) to give an open ring section. Two bearing surfaces (30) outside the slot on both sides can be fixed to a dashboard (19) bearing surface (32). The air channel (12) is moulded from material which allows for slot (24) expansion on removal from the mould. The two surfaces (30) consists of two co-planar legs (28) to both sides of the slot thus giving the channel an OMEGA section. On removal from the mould, the slot edges (26) are drawn together to securely fix the channel to the dashboard. The channel shape should be adapted to that of the dashboard and is made preferably of plastics eg. foam plastics. The interior of the mould is defined by male and female dies, the male having an insert which accords with the channel and is continued as a narrow web piece.
