Composition for a photoconductive layer for making a colour picture screen contains a styrene-acrylic copolymer of formula (I) as organic binder, a 9-oxo-9H-thioxanthene-10,10-dioxide derivative of formula (II) as electron acceptor and a tetraphenyl-butadiene derivative of formula (III) as electron donor in a solvent. In formulae, R1, R2 = hydrogen (H) or alkyl; R3 = alkyl or alkylene; X = a polar group; l, m, n are variable to regulate the concentration of photoconductive material and surface charge; R4 = alkyl-, alkoxy- or aryl-carbonyl; R5 = H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, cyano, nitro, an ester group or trifluoromethyl; R6, R7 = dimethylamino or methoxy and R7 may also = H. Also claimed is (II) as electron acceptor for a photoconductive layer for a colour picture screen.
