Horizontal axis aerator for surface aeration of water and waste water

A paddle wheel oxygenates effluent water by hitting the surface and dragging air bubbles through the water. The novelty is that: (a) the paddles have a maximum width of 4 cm in the axis of rotation; (b) the gap between adjacent paddles is one to one-and-a-half times that of the paddle width; (c) the entire face of the paddle hits the water surface approximately parallel to the surface; (d) the angle between two adjacent paddles is such that the air bubble zone dragged into the water from a first paddle ends before impingement by the following paddle; (e) the ratio of the paddle gap to the circumferential speed is so large that the paddle does not generate a significant water current.
