The apparatus includes a chamber (33), receiving garments containing particulates, adapted for passing air through it and near to the garments to remove the particulates with a controller unit (20) governing the operation of the apparatus. A particle counter assembly (40) comprises a sample port (42) in communication with the air passing through the chamber, the assembly producing an output representative of the amount of the particulates in the chamber. The output is utilised by the controller to operate the apparatus until particulates have been removed from the garments to a desired particulate level. The sample port is located along a wall of an exhaust duct (34) that is in communication with the chamber, the duct directing air passing through the chamber out of the chamber. |
