Photometric system for gas sample examination

The system contains the gas samples in a measurement cell (4) and uses radiation (24) output from a source (23) passing through the sample to a detector (29) for spectral analysis. By use of a condenser (3) connected to the measurement cell, the pressure on the sample can be adjusted. This ensures a widening of the absorption lines (44,45) by comparison with the transmission spectra (42,43) under natural pressure within the spectral ranges (46,47) under analysis. The cell and condenser are in thermal contact with a warming system (18) controlled by a temperature sensor (19) and heat exchanger (22) to perform all analyses at a specified temperature.
