The material (I) for the production of sheet, profiles and similar moulded products, containing (a) 1-60 (preferably 20-40) wt% light filler, especially a mineral-based filler, preferably perlite, (b) 1-50 (preferably 5-25) wt% chalk-like filler, especially talcum, (c) 1-40 (preferably 2-10) wt% reinforcing material in the form of separate fibres, woven, knitted or non- woven fabric or rovings, (d) 1-80 (preferably 40-80) wt% curable binder, and optionally other additives and/or fillers. Also claimed is a process for the production of moulded articles from (I), by mixing components (a), (b) and (c) in a container, spraying in binder (d) to which a hardener has previously been added, transferring the mixture to a mould and hardening under the action of pressure and heat.
