The brake system for a vehicle incorporates a servo pressure valve (1) and a non-return valve. The non-return valve may be installed inside a casing (13) which has an inlet (3) from the servo valve and a suction outlet (6) at right-angles to each other. The right-angled bend in the channel faces upward. The valve element and the valve seat for the non-return valve may be especially in the outlet channel in the valve casing. The valve element moves towards the suction outlet when it opens and away from the outlet when it shuts.
