The insert (1) has at least one mesh-type, cylindrical side wall (3) and at least one mesh-type base (4) defining the interior space (2). At least part of the side or of the base can be flapped open to let the product out, via a flap (6) forming part or all of the side or base. The insert has a top opening and is placed inside a pan. At least one closure element (9) fastens the insert. The side or base are made of sheet metal with through holes.
