RAISE IN PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY IN PRODUCTION OF CHLORINE DIOXIDE USING HYDRATE SALT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain chlorine dioxide by using a hydrate inorganic salt as a humidifying source. SOLUTION: This method for producing chlorine dioxide comprises bringing a supply flow of a chlorine gas into contact with sodium chlorite and a hydrate inorganic salt, for example, a crystal water-containing inorganic salt in an amount of 30wt.% at most. The amount of chlorine dioxide produced by a sodium sulfite generating column is increased and the life of the column is prolonged. Sodium chlorite is mixed with a hydrate inorganic salt in a single column or sodium chlorite and the hydrate inorganic salt are provided as separated layers in a single column or supplied to different columns.
