PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which shows high color developing sensitivity and green storage stability. SOLUTION: This thermal recording material has a thermal recording layer containing a diazonium salt confound and a coupler which causes coloration/ discoloration through a thermal reaction with the diazonium salt compound formed on a support. In this case, a chemical compound expressed by formula is contained in the thermal recording layer. In the formula, R is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group of an aryl group. X is -COOR<1> , -OCOR<1> , -CONR<1> R<2> or -NR<2> COR<1> ; R<1> is an alkyl group of an aryl group; and R<2> is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group. n is an integer of 1 to 5. |
