PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light emitting device having a light emitting component with which a white color light can be emitted uniformly on a large area without having deterioration, color deviation and irregular brightness, by a method wherein a color converting member is used as an organic fluorescent dyestaff and inorganic fluorescent dyestaff. SOLUTION: A color converting member 101 is the member containing a photoluminescence fluorescent substance with which the light emitted from an LED chip 102, which is a light emitting element, is absorbed and it is converted into different light emitting wavelengths. Various inorganic and organic pigments and dyestaffs, which are excited by the light emitting element 102, can be utilized as the photoluminescence fluorescent substance. As an organic fluorescent pigment, a perylene scarlet pigment, and a rhodamine fluorescent dyestaff, etc., are considered suitable. Also, as an inorganic fluorescent pigment, a yttrium/aluminum oxide which is activated by cerium, (ZnCd)S:Cu, Al, etc., can be enumerated. As a result, a white light, having very small lowering of light emitting efficiency, can be emitted. |
