PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element with which a uniform liquid crystal thickness as well as a high quality picture are obtained and a manufacturing method for the same. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element is manufactured by including a process for forming one electrode substrate by laminating and hardening an orientation-controlled film 12 constituting of a resin thin film on a substrate 10 equipped with transparent electrodes 11, a process for executing an orientation treatment such as rubbing on the orientation-controlled film 12, a process for forming a flattening and simultaneously spacer material-fixing film 13 in gaps between transparent electrodes so as to eliminate the difference of the surface level occurring in the transparent electrodes 11 and in the gaps between transparent electrodes, a process for displacing/fixing spacer materials 14 to the flattening and simultaneously spacer material-fixing film, a process for removing the spacers not fixed to the flattening and simultaneously spacer material-fixing film and a process for superposing the one electrode substrate, from which the spacer materials are removed, on the other electrode substrates (22, 21, 20) via the fixed and remained spacer materials 14. |
