PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce LiNiO2 by baking a homogeneous mixture of a lithium salt and nickel salt formed by obtaining a homogeneous precipitate of lithium and nickel using a buffer solution for a coprecipitation reaction of a solution containing lithium and nickel with oxalic acid. SOLUTION: This LiNiO2 is produced through the following steps: In the step #5, an organic acid and a lithium salt are dissolved in water to prepare a buffer solution. Each molar amount is 3-30 times that of a nickel compound to be dissolved in the buffer solution in the step #10. The molar amount of the lithium salt is 0.25-10 times that of the organic acid. In the step #10, the nickel compound and lithium compound are dissolved in the buffer solution prepared in the step #5 in the molar ratio of (1:0.7)to (1:3.0). For producing LiNi1- XMXO2 (0<(x)<0.5, M is at least a kind of element selected from transition metals, 3B group, 4B group and 5B group metals), a compound of the transition metal or metals and 3B group element or elements, etc., is used. In the step #15, oxalic acid is added to the buffer solution to effect a coprecipitation. |
