PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly increase operation speed of a gas turbine without oscillations. SOLUTION: Three-phase AC power is supplied from an inverter 5 to a synchronizer 1 in order to increase operation speed of a gas turbine 2 directly connected to the synchronizer 1, and the synchronizer 1 is driven by a motor. When the rotational speed reaches an ignitable value, the gas turbine 2 is ignited and torque by the gas turbine 2 is also generated. A starting control device 27 is operated such that inverter voltage and inverter frequency are gradually increased until the rotational speed reaches the ignitable value, and that a load angle is fixed to be a first value, while field current is fixed to be a regulated value. For a specified time from the time the rotational speed reaches the ignitable value, the inverter voltage and inverter frequency are kept constant, the load angle is varied to be a second value smaller than the first value, and the field current is fixed to be the regulated value. After passage of the specified time, not only the inverter voltage and frequency but also the load angle are gradually increased. As for the field current, it is fixed to be the regulated value until the inverter voltage is saturated. After the inverter voltage is saturated, the field current is gradually decreased. When the rotational speed is a self-risable value, power supply by the inverter 5 is stopped. The operation speed of the gas turbine 2 is increased by itself. |
