PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a material having a crystalline oriented membrane of titanium oxide formed on the surface of various substrates such as a metal, a glass, a ceramic, and a plastic and further having properties such as excellent antimicrobial properties, antifouling properties and ultra-hydrophilic properties, and to provide a method for efficiently producing the material. SOLUTION: This material having excellent properties such as excellent antimicrobial properties, antifouling properties and ultra-hydrophilic properties is efficiently obtained by blowing vaporized titanium alkoxide 8 with an inert gas as a carrier to the surface of a heated substrate 20 under a normal air atmosphere to form crystalline oriented membrane of titanium oxide oriented in the direction selected from crystalline faces of (001), (100), (211), (101) and (110) in the direction vertical to the crystalline surface. |
