<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an initial active material utilization factor, prevent an internal short circuit during storage, and restrain reduction in discharge capacity by making an electrode group through a separator between a positive electrode and a negative electrode having a structure that a positive electrode material containing an Ni hydroxide, an Ni oxyhydroxide and a Co compound is carried by a current collector, arranging alkaline electrolyte in this, and performing ageing and initial charge. SOLUTION: A separator composed of polypropylene-made nonwoven fabric is interposed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and is wound in a spiral shape, and electrode groups are made. These electrode groups and alkaline electrolyte are housed in a vessel, and a nonactive cylindrical Ni hydrogen storage battery is assembled. Next, after ageing is performed for 72 hours in an atmosphere of 25 deg.C, initial charge to charge 200% in 0.1C is performed, and discharge is performed up to 1.0v in 0.2C. Afterwards, after 200% charge is performed in 0.1C at a room temperature, a cycle to perform discharge up to 1.0v in 0.2C is performed by five cycles, and a battery is manufactured.</p> |
