摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve magnetic characteristics such as a coercive force Hc, a residual magnetization Mr, a saturation magnetization Ms, and a squareness ratio S of a hard magnetic film that contains Co as a constituent element without applying a thick ground film, especially the reproducibility of bi-crystal structure. SOLUTION: A ground film 18 of a Co-base hard magnetic film 17 has a crystallizable metal ground film 16 such as Cr film formed on the main surface of a substrate 11 with, for example, oxide layer and nitride layer as a surface layer 12 and a reactive ground film (mixing layer) 15 that is generated between the surface layer 12 and the crystallizable metal ground film 16 and has a reactive amorphous layer 13 that contains the constituent element of the surface layer 12 and that of the crystallizable metal ground film 16. The Co-base hard magnetic film 17 is formed on the crystallizable metal ground film 16 and has for example bi-crystal structure. The Co-base hard magnetic film 17 is applied to the bias magnetic application film of a magnetoresistance effect element and the recording layer of a magnetic recording medium.</p>
