PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a zirconium and hafnium oxide mixture used for a far infrared radiating material and concrete reinforcing material. SOLUTION: This zirconium and hafnium oxide mixture, which is used, as a far infrared radiating material in the form of textile fibers and films, for socks, insoles, clothing, fishing nets, and ship bottom paints, as well as for concrete, is obtained by separating siliceous sand from zirconium sea sand, in which natural zirconium and hafnium coexist, with a jigger to concentrate the zirconium and hafnium containing mineral sand, removing iron sand by electromagnetic separation, passing the mineral sand through a jerking machine to remove uranium and iron tungstate, concentrating the zirconium-hafnium oxide sand to 65% or higher concentration by gravity separation, mixing the concentrate with aluminum sulfate and alum, melting the mixture by heating, quenching and granulating the melt in water, washing the particulates with mixture, and mixing it with a paint, or mixing a synthetic resin and melting and textiling the mixture. |
