摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax the effect by shift of aτmin between different threshold values, and to obtain a larger drive area for gradation display, by adopting a compensation pulse. SOLUTION: For avoiding such a problem that drive window of a halftone level becomes narrower by the presence of a retrace line blanking pulse, a compensation pulse having the polarity opposite to the retrace blanking pulse is provided between the retrace blanking pulse and a strobe pulse, that is, main switching pulse. When such compensation pulse exists, the width of the drive window of the halftone level becomes larger compared with the case using the retrace blanking pulse without the compensation pulse. For instance, the retrace blanking pulse is prolonged by two time slots in the forward direction for a normal wave (A), and the compensation pulse having the amplitude Vs and occupying one time slot is provided just after the retrace blanking pulse (B). Further, through the compensation pulse 20 having the amplitude Vs and occupying one time slot may be provided simply (C), in this case, a DC offset is provided for keeping a DC balance.
